Turkey Creek Garden Center is a locally owned, family-run garden center in Middlebury, Indiana. We opened in 2016, but the Turkey Creek name goes back much further.
The name comes from Turkey Creek Archery, the archery shop owned by my grandfather, Ralph Gorsuch Sr. When it came time to name the garden center, carrying on the Turkey Creek name felt like a natural way to honor a piece of our family's history while growing something new of our own.
Today, Turkey Creek Garden Center has grown into much more than where we started.
In the spring, our greenhouses come alive with annuals, vegetable starts, herbs, ferns, hanging baskets and plenty more. Throughout the season you'll also find houseplants, tropicals, perennials, shrubs and field-grown trees.
We grow our own fall mums and pumpkins right here at Turkey Creek, and each October we hold our annual Tree Auction featuring trees grown in our fields.
There's plenty to discover beyond the plants, too. You'll find seeds and gardening supplies, fairy-garden and terrarium supplies, fertilizers and plant-care products, gifts for teachers, friends and family, and all kinds of unique finds tucked around the garden center.
In the summer, families can also visit our free Butterfly House, where you can step inside and experience live butterflies up close.
A lot has changed since 2016, and we're still growing, experimenting and finding new things to bring to Turkey Creek. Through all of it, we've remained a local, family-run business that's grateful for the people who continue to walk through our doors year after year.
